If you don’t believe me when I tell you about things on earth, how will you believe me when I tell you about things in heaven? No one has gone to heaven except the Son of Man, who came from heaven.
“As Moses lifted up the snake on a pole in the desert, so the Son of Man must be lifted up. Then everyone who believes in him will have eternal life.” John 3:12-15 GW
Jesus used the phrase, “born again” once while speaking of salvation. He used the word, salvation only twice, but most often spoke of “eternal life.” It is through eternal life we may know the Father. So many religions focus on afterlife and reward. Jesus is the light; He is our reward. Without Jesus, heaven would not be possible.
Eternal life has a heavenly dimension, but it starts now.
If you’ve received Christ, eternal life courses through you today. Eternal life helps us today. It delivered you from sin and made you free of condemnation and fear. It changes your mindset and your temperament.
Yet we have the same spirit of faith as he had, who wrote in Scripture, “I believed, therefore I spoke.” We also believe, therefore we also speak, knowing that He who raised the Lord Jesus will also raise us with Jesus and will present us [along] with you in His presence.
It is so great to watch baby Christians and to see them experience Christ for the first time. Salvation reorients us. It rewires our brain. We put on the new man with a new mind.
Look at the unseen. Life has come into us. Salvation starts now and never ends.
