The Bible—Your Immunity Builder

The Bible—Your Immunity Builder

If someone goes through a health crisis, a near death experience, they usually become motivated to make changes in their health. People do the same thing with the Bible—when many experience an attack on their life, they turn to the Bible. The middle of a crisis is not the time to get healthy—physically or spiritually. It’s better to do it before you experience a crisis.

Do things now that promote health in every area of your life.

One of the greatest reasons to study the Do things now that promote health in every area of your life.Bible is it builds our immunity to sin. The Bible says we all are tempted. It’s important to dig into the Word of God. His Word gives us the desire to live our lives right.

Psalm 119 has 176 verses. All but two of the verses speak directly about how God’s Word strengthens us.

  • Blessed are those whose lives have integrity, those who follow the teachings of the Lord. Blessed are those who obey his written instructions. They wholeheartedly search for him. They do nothing wrong. They follow his directions.[1]
  • I will give thanks to you as I learn your regulations, which are based on your righteousness.[2]
  • How can a young person keep his life pure? He can do it by holding on to your word.[3]
  • I have treasured your promise in my heart so that I may not sin against you.[4]

My mother used to quote D.L. Moody: “Sin will keep you from this Book and this Book will keep you from sin.”

As we study the Bible, God’s Word gets inside of us and exposes what is deep within us.

Hebrews 4:12 says, God’s word is living and active. It is sharper than any two-edged sword and cuts as deep as the place where soul and spirit meet, the place where joints and marrow meet. God’s word judges a person’s thoughts and intentions.[5]

So, make sure you’re building your immunity against sin by immersing yourself in the Bible on a daily basis.

I am amazed how we can go to the Word and God gives me exactly what I need. If I get a verse that really speaks to me in my personal study time, I put that on my phone and look at it throughout the week. It keeps me focused in the direction God directs me.
