The Apostle Paul warned Pastor Timothy that the day was coming when people in the church will reject the Word. They will attempt to make the Word line up with their life, rather than lining up their life with the Word. They will try to explain away the truth of the Word and reject any Word of rebuke. They’ll endeavor to twist the Word by making it say what they want it to say, not what it actually says.
So to Timothy Paul said, “My dearly beloved son: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord. I thank God, whom I serve from my forefathers with pure conscience, that without ceasing I have remembrance of thee in my prayers night and day; Greatly desiring to see thee, being mindful of thy tears, that I may be filled with joy” (2 Timothy 4:2-4 NKJV).
While others may reject the Word, how do we make sure we are holding on to it?
Over the next few blogs, I’ll answer that question in more detail, but for now, here’s the points we’ll be covering.
Four Ways to hold on to God’s Word:
- Make it the foundation of your life.
- Make it the first part of your life.
- Make it a growing part of your life.
- Make it the weapon of your life.
I hope this blog series will help you grow in your faith and hold fast to God’s Word.
